Companion extension

Save every tab you open.
One click.

Cherry Companion is a tiny Chrome extension (~9 KB) that saves the active tab, all your open tabs, or your browsing history to Cherry. All captures land in the same searchable knowledge base.

Save current tab

Alt+Shift+C or click the icon โ€” extracts the article text from the active page and saves it instantly.

Save all open tabs

Captures every http(s) tab in the current window, concurrently, with content extraction.

Import history

Pulls the last 7 days of your browsing history (deduped) into Cherry in one batch.

Install in 60 seconds

Cherry Companion isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet โ€” it's a "load unpacked" dev install, which means you enable Developer mode in Chrome and point it at the extracted folder. No signup, no review process.

  1. 1

    Download & unzip

Click Download extension above, then unzip the file somewhere you'll remember. The folder should contain manifest.json, popup.html, and a few other files.

  2. 2

    Open chrome://extensions

In a new tab, type chrome://extensions into the address bar and press Enter. This also works in Edge, Brave, and Arc.

  3. 3

    Enable Developer mode

Toggle the 'Developer mode' switch in the top-right corner of the extensions page. Three buttons will appear on the left: Load unpacked, Pack extension, Update.

  4. 4

    Click 'Load unpacked'

A file picker will open. Select the unzipped folder (the one containing manifest.json) and click OK.

  5. 5

    Pin the ๐Ÿ’ icon

Click the puzzle piece icon ๐Ÿงฉ in Chrome's top-right, find Cherry Companion, and click the pin icon next to it. The ๐Ÿ’ icon will appear in your toolbar.

  6. 6

    Click the icon

Click the ๐Ÿ’ icon to open the popup. You should see Connected ยท cherry-beryl.vercel.app at the top. Now try Save all open tabs โ€” the pages you have open will land in your Cherry dashboard.

Privacy & permissions

Nothing leaves your browser except the pages you explicitly choose to save โ€” and only to your Cherry instance. No telemetry, no analytics, no third parties.
